LANE TECH RESULTS

HUGE day for our distance crew.  We took advantage of ideal weather, calm wind, and toed the line ready to race!  I am very pleased with the competitive efforts and with the enthusiasm the DISTANCE CREW brought to this meet!  We’ve got a long way to go, but this was a huge step in the right direction.  Many of you are still very young and new to the sport, and have no idea how big of an improvement you will all make if you continue to work hard and stay consistent for the next few years.  This is just the beginning......

All in all, we had 23 season personal bests out of 28 opportunities.  82% PR;’s!!

Michael Delaney won the 800 Fr/So, remaining undefeated in outdoor Fr/So competition (2-0)

Jon Sanders SHATTERED his personal bests in the 800 and 1600-  He split 2:15.8, then came back in the 1600 and ran 5:14.4!  He has never run under 5:35... He did not run XC.  He is a baby in terms of running age, but his potential is limitless!

Thomas DeVaux looked rejuvanated, running his first 400 of the year in 54.6!  With that kind of speed, look for his 800 season best to fall drastically in the coming weeks...

Fr/So guys-  We now have 6 Fr/So guys at 5:16 or better for the 1600, and 6 Fr/So guys at 2:19 or under for the 800.  More and more guys who were unknown a few weeks ago are starting to emerge as contenders!

“Old men” Dan Wooldridge and Richie Rysiewicz ran solid races-  Dan opted for an aggressive, “Prefontaine” style race today, taking a 20 meter lead after 400m, but couldn’t quite hang on the last lap... Still ran his #2 time ever (4:43), and gained the confidence that low 4:30’s is in the picture for the near future... Richie overcame a stumble on lap 1, put himself in position to run under 2:20-  He was on pace through 700m and just couldn’t quite hold on the final straightaway... But, like Dan, his fitness is better than ever and no doubt he will be knocking on the door of 2:00 soon.
